Lawrence D. Baker, M.D., FACP, FACC

Dr. Baker has over 20 years experience in managing healthcare insurance costs, having served as Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs for the Tufts Associated Health Plan, Chief Medical Officer and Senior Vice President for Merck Medco Managed Care, Chief Medical Officer of HMO BLUE for Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of New Jersey, and Senior Vice President for Medical Affairs for Anthem Blue Cross Blue Shield of Maine.

He taught at Tufts University School of Medicine as Clinical Professor of Medicine and has given courses on U.S. healthcare economics at the University of Southern Maine.

He is the author of 22 research papers and abstracts. His experience in hospital administration includes serving as Chief of Medicine and Chief of Cardiology, and Director of the Intensive Care Unit. Dr. Baker practiced Cardiology for 23 years and founded one of the first Independent Practice Associations in Massachusetts.
